Brought enough food and beer, so it was quite peaceful. Walked in the snow. Stayed warm inside, kept the fireplace going, watched dvds. Town plowed the roads so after digging out the car I had little trouble getting to the main road. Skiing and Tubing with this kind of snow would be great. | | | | | |

Drove to Orlando Sanford Airport and flew Allegiant Air into Tri-Cities. An hour later we were in banner Elk eating at Sorentos. Friday we got supplies in Boone, and then took a 2.5 mile hike (saw one deer).
Saturday we tried the Hawksnest Zipline. What an experience, not for those with fear of heights.
Later, we went to the Rock to watch ASU defeat the Mocs. College football is very exciting and ASU has a chance to go all the way again (3 time champs 05-07).
Awoke to a warm day Sunday, hitting 70!
Another great trip. We added a new microwave, more dvds, set up the Christmas Tree and met with a contractor to improve access.

Weather was espcially nice the first week, with no rain the first week. Discovered that the Town of Seven devils now offers free tennis so we pciked up two rackets for the house. Also, Hawksnest has added a two mile Scream Time Zip Line course, but it won't open until July 1.
Went white water rafting on teh French broad, Class III and Class IV. Also went Horseback Riding at Banner Elk Stables.
House improvements included a new floor lamp shaped like a tree trunk with two bears climbing the sides, a new 32" TV with DVD upstairs, and a DVR for the main floor bedroom. We also planted 4 Leyland Cypress to add privacy along the bottom of the property. We also painted the lower storm door green, came out nice so the front storm door will be next.

Went skiing at Beech Mountain, wasn't crowded at all.
Can't wait to go back.

Checked out Hawksnest to see the tubing expansion and it is four times the size of last year. No kidding when they say its the biggest on the East Coast. | | | | | |
